This is a professional airport operations position which exercises a high level of discretion and judgment regarding a wide variety of duties both independently and supervised for all airport operations. The position exercises considerable confidential and independent decision making in response to difficult situations involving airside, landside and terminal operations. The Airport Operations Manager provides work assignments, instructions, and evaluations through observations, reports, inspections, and discussion. The primary mission of the position is compliance with Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 139 Certification of Airports, and the Airport Certification Manual. Required Experience and Training: Requires graduation from a four-year college with a degree in aviation management, airport management, aeronautical science, or other related degree. One year of experience or internship in airport operations or administration at a public use airport, designation as an Airport Certified Employee (ACE) in Operations, and/or a private pilot certificate are preferred. Ability to acquire and maintain a valid Kansas drivers license within 60 days of employment Must pass a ten-year background investigation, including employment, drivers license, security threat assessment and criminal history. Offers of employment are also contingent upon passing a physical examination, which includes drug screening.
