Summary of Responsibilities •Teach 3 courses per semester in the undergraduate and upper division available to graduate students in the Women’s Studies and Religion Department •Provide advising and consultation to students •Conduct and publish scholarly work •Perform relevant University, professional, and community outreach, research and service •Contribute to the departmental mission and strategic plans as assigned by the Chair Minimum Education •PhD or equivalent in any discipline by appointment date, although preference may be given to the appointee with interdisciplinary research and teaching interests and/or experience and education in the intersectionality of race, gender, and sexuality (LGBTQ) as it relates to new media Minimum Experience •Two years experience working with faculty in a higher education environment, preferably with staff and students as well •Two years teaching experience of undergraduate courses in a higher education environment Knowledge, skills and abilities •Excellent oral and written communication •General Knowledge of teaching methods in higher education •Familiarity with and basic understanding of on-line teaching •Knowledge of emerging teaching/research technologies in voice, video and data communication •Ability to work as part of a team on new projects, and to resolve problems in existing projects •Excellent time management skills and self-motivation •Ability and willingness to learn new concepts and responsibilities •Experience working with diverse populations •Excellent computer skills Wichita State University does not discriminate in its employment practices, educational programs or activities on the basis of age, ancestry, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, marital status, national origin, political affiliation, pregnancy, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or status as a veteran.
