This is professional administrative work providing overall direction for, and management of, public information and public relations programs for the City. This position assists the Director of Communications in developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating strategic communication plans across multiple platforms. Required Experience and Training: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelors degree in journalism, public relations, mass communications, public administration, or a closely related field and at least four years of experience in public information and/or corporate or public communication activities. Two or more years of direct supervisory or communications lead experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. Offers of employment will be made contingent upon passing a pre-employment physical, which will include drug screening, and upon satisfactory evaluation of the results of a police records check. Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Kansas drivers license.
