The curriculum coordinator will be responsible for initial assessment of incoming high school students, will develop an academic plan for each participant, responsible for academic follow up, management of student progress,needs towards secondary education completion and post-secondary enrollment. Responsible for developing curriculum for monthly Saturday workshops, manage tutorial sessions and compiling student data for monthly, yearly reports. Responsible to provide along with Associate Director, career exploration opportunities, student recruitment and summer residential program. Minimum Education •Bachelor’s degree Minimum Experience •At least 3 years of experience working in the radio, television, print, marketing or mass communication fields. •Media networking and expertise with journalism and/or communication professionals so that students will have opportunity to explore careers. Knowledge, skills and abilities •Knowledge and/or experience with curriculum development. •Strong written and oral communication skills. •Supervisory skills. •Knowledge of software programs effective for databases, reports and tracking. •Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision. •Competency with Macs and PCs. Preferred Education •Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, English or Journalism. Preferred Experience •4+ years of experience in professional communication and or marketing. •5 years of experience in a supervisory role. •Experience working with first generation, low-income students.
