The Department Chair will provide academic leadership to the department, initiate the development and execution of new education and research initiatives and represent the department to the academic community, alumni, and industry. *The Department Chair will promote diversity within the department and participate in faculty development. Minimum Education Earned doctorate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related area. Minimum Experience Research and teaching record in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering that qualifies for a tenured position at the Professor level or a progressing Associate Professor whose work would merit promotion to Professor. Ability to lead a department and advance the education and research initiatives. Knowledge, skills and abilities Demonstrated record of leadership and management. Evidence in excellence in education. Strong record of scholarly research and funding history. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to enhance diversity of the department. Willingness to accommodate a variety of learning styles and strategies in instructional delivery and learning activities, including online and blended learning, flexible teaching methods, and applied learning approaches.
