Job Functions: The Human Resources Specialist handles and provides support for various HR employee programs within the organization. • Assist the department in carrying out various human resource programs and procedures for all company employees. • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions. • Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements. • Update HRIS database records and process paperwork for new hires, terminations and other status changes. • Assist in hiring process by coordinating job postings on website and appropriate career sites, reviewing resumes, setting up interviews, processing pre-employment tests, and conducts reference checks. • Prepare new hire paperwork. • Complete I-9 for new hires and maintain I-9 records. • Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions. • Perform payroll/benefits-related reconciliations. • Assists in the exit interview process. • Complete and process unemployment claims. • Process employment information requests from employees and outside agencies. • Maintain records and assist with various program reports, including VETS-4212, Affirmative Action and EEO-1. • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit and Harlow Aerostructures Skills Required: • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ethical practice. • Extensive knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office Suite). • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials. • High level of ability in establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. • HR and employment law knowledge. Education and Experience Required: • High school diploma. • Minimum of three years of job-related experience or combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. • SHRM-CP or PHR certification, preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field, preferred.
