Job Summary: Under the direction of the Injection Molding lead, this position will work primarily on the set up, trouble shooting and preventative maintenance of our current machines. They will apply their expertise to improve our current processes including set up documentation as well as develop the current staff on the operation of our injection molding machines Job duties: Assistant in the maintenance of current setup sheets and create setup sheets for new parts/molds as required. Perform the set-up and operation of plastic injection molds for all machines. Help troubleshoot molding issues, evaluating the molded parts, molds, machine, support equipment, and/or raw materials in order to determine the root cause and take corrective and preventive actions. Always seek ways to improve safety and productivity, while optimizing the benefits of lean manufacturing within the injection molding area and work with leadership to initiate positive change. Coordinate with GPI Equipment Reliability Group to assure the execution of specific duties for the Preventive Maintenance Program for all machines and equipment. Monitor performance and operating conditions of the presses and supporting equipment closely and take actions (with the Reliability Team) to repair or correct issues promptly. Clean, repair, and maintain molds per mold maintenance schedule and when needed impromptu. Review daily cycle times and machine performance in order to say abreast of all operations and be able to take immediate corrective actions should any be required. Foster positive, open communication between all shifts of the molding operation as well as other departments within the facility. Build a positive work environment through clear, positive communication, instilling the attitudes of teamwork, pride, quality and concern in all shift operations. As part of team, help resolve quality issues to insure a quality product and reduce occurrences of nonconformities. Candidate Requirements: Three years experience in injection molding plastics industry. Prior responsibility for machine set up, mold maintenance and machine preventative maintenance. Prior experience working with an ERP system. High School diploma or GED. Working knowledge of MS Office products, notably Excel, and Word. Must be able to read blueprints. Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills. Preferred Candidates: Previous experience interacting with different levels of employees in a multiple shift molding environment. Prior supervisory experience. Technical training.
