Sets up and operates an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines and customer requirements. Reads and interprets directives and diagrams to select, position and operate machinery. Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures of Great Lakes Polymer Technologies. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Key Responsibilities Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with Great Lakes Polymer Technologies policies Ensure safe, legal and quality products through assessment, inspections and verifications of processes at all stages of manufacturing Adjust machine components to regulate speed, pressure and temperatures and amounts dimensions and flow of materials or ingredients Understand production recording in the current production program Examine, measure and weigh materials or products to verify conformance to standards, using measuring devices such as templates, micrometers or scales Monitor machine operations and observe lights / gauges to detect malfunctions Verify that parameters set on the machine are correct for each specific product and material, adjusting when corrections during production runs are necessary Review and interpret work orders, specification and instructions to determine materials, ingredients, procedures, components, settings and adjustments Fill out daily production sheets and production system accurately and completely Record and maintain data related to downtime, including amount of time, reason for downtime and actions to correct the problem Keep all waste and scrap levels within company guidelines Record and maintain production data such as meter readings, quantities, types, and dimensions of materials produced Notify supervisors when produced materials fail to meet standards Keep work area clean, organized and free of debris to maintain a safe facility Perform material handler duties as necessary Perform other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervisor Other Duties: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Helpful Information:

High school diploma or equivalent GED required. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required Minimum of two years experience in plant environment Motivated, team player Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, multitasking environment. Ability to adapt to quickly changing schedules. Ability to work with minimal to moderate supervision.
