The research technician for the Aircraft Structural Testing and Evaluation Center (ASTEC) of the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) will coordinate and assist with structural teardown activities for the center’s director, program managers and staff. Tasks will include: airframe disassembly, chemical coatings removal, and airframe visual inspection Minimum Education •High School Diploma Minimum Experience •Two (2) – 12 years related experience Knowledge, skills and abilities •Familiarity with aircraft structure, fasteners, and common hand tools •Ability to perform research in a laboratory setting. •Ability to operate engineering laboratory equipment.
