Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work under the general direction of Operations Management with a minimum of supervision. Responsible for the leadership and direction of all quality assurance functions, including but not limited to quality planning, internal/external auditing, inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT), lab testing, metrology and supplier quality. Act as technical liaison with the customer, supplier, and internal departments to ensure quality requirements are met. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: • Assure effective and efficient quality planning and inspection/testing requirements and methods. Confirm manufacturing process plans meet customer criteria and verify process/product results via AS9102 First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) process. • Develop or improve policies and procedures for effective control of customer and regulatory specifications and requirements. Assure compliance to procedures via internal and supplier audits. Host customers or third party auditors for product or systems audits. Drive any corrective actions and assure effectiveness of actions taken. • Manage the nonconforming material review process and drive effective and timely corrective actions. • Oversee the activities of product inspection, NDT, lab testing and metrology. Ensure quality, cost and on-time delivery in accordance with production schedule and customer/company commitments. Provide or arrange for technical assistance where required. • Employee development activities such as hiring, training, cross training personnel for current roles and developing them for future roles. • Establish and maintain effective communication with customers, among subordinate personnel, and across other functional departments. • Utilize lean and six sigma techniques to improve first time process yields and reduce scrap. • Develop, maintain and improve key performance indicator (KPI) metrics to measure effectiveness and efficiency of quality activities. This includes quality systems, product quality performance and overall cost of quality. • Develop and manage department budgets and objectives that support the division’s overall objectives. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Minimum Education and Experience Required: • Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years’ experience • Working knowledge of AS9100 and NADCAP • Working familiarity with common Quality methodologies such as Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action • Ability to read blueprints, technical charts and specification sheets • Ability to work effectively in a team collaborative environment
