Summary of Responsibilities Provide application packages to new students, assist academic advisors in checking accuracy of paperwork to complete the student enrollment process, maintain a system that follows established internal controls by the director and a computerized budgeting system, track monthly budget expenses, process purchase requisitions and travel requests, maintain the program’s equipment inventory, provide the director and staff with clerical and typing assistance, maintain incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring timely mailings, assist with hiring, training and supervising of student assistants, process employee authorization forms to complete hiring, maintain computerized calendar for student appointments with SSS staff, edit the SSS e-newsletter and perform other duties assigned by the director. Minimum Education •Associates Degree or 30 hours of completed college coursework Minimum Experience •Three years of experience in general office, clerical or administrative support work. •One year of experience in accounting, payroll and record keeping functions. Knowledge, skills and abilities •Ability to listen and follow directions, work with limited supervision, organize and prioritize work assignments. •Strong verbal and writing skills. •Ability to maintain a system for computerized budgets and inventories. •Understand processes to assist first generation, low income, and disabled college students. •Three years of Microsoft Office experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint. Preferred Education •Bachelor’s degree Preferred Experience •At least four years of experience in general office, clerical or administrative support work. •Skilled with Adobe Suite software. •Experience with database systems. •Experience in working cooperatively with multiple supervisors and multiple tasks. •Demonstrate background of interacting with diverse college students. •Knowledge of Banner software systems.
