Wichita State Universitys Barton School of Business seeks to fill the W. Frank Barton Distinguished Chair in International Business with an individual who possesses a distinguished teaching and research record in International Business. The position begins Fall Semester 2017. We seek someone who will engage students with high quality teaching at the undergraduate, MBA, and Executive MBA levels, successfully engage in scholarly activity and output at a level commensurate with the position, and provide service to the school, university, and community. The successful candidate is expected to be closely involved with the Barton Schools Center for International Business Advancement (CIBA), and through it, with the Wichita WTCouncil, which conducts monthly country/company trade programs and other activities to engage area businesses to enhance the mission of the Center and the Barton School. Our vision is that the holder of this endowed chair will make strong academic contributions and strengthen and expand our community ties and activities related to international business. The teaching requirement will consist of 6 hours per semester typically this is a 2 course/semester assignment. Minimum Education Doctorate degree (PhD or DBA) in a relevant business discipline Minimum Experience Sustained excellence in research commensurate with appointment as a Distinguished Chair in International Business at the Professor rank. Demonstrated excellence in the classroom. Demonstrated leadership experience in this field. Demonstrated experience with relevant outreach activities in this field. Experience working with diverse populations. Knowledge, skills and abilities Demonstrated ability to publish in high quality research outlets. Evidence of teaching/classroom effectiveness. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Evidence of success in dealing with diverse populations. Ability to engage in relevant outreach activities. Willingness to accommodate a variety of learning styles and strategies in instructional delivery and learning activities, including online and blended learning, flexible teaching methods, and applied learning approaches.
