Jan sought career assistance with the Wichita Workforce Center in April 2023 shortly after resigning from her position as an Executive Administrative Assistant. She was hopeful to find an employer that would allow her to balance work-life activities, and her previous schedule made it impossible to spend time with family.
After graduating high school, Cheyenne could not afford post-secondary training; the One Workforce Grant was able to help with the financial aid needed to complete her training goals en route to a new career.
Chelsie met with a Workforce Center Case Manager seeking help to complete her Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; she found it with the One Workforce Grant.

Artisha demonstrated extreme dedication during her training to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Utilizing funds and supportive services through the WIOA Adult program along with assistance from her Workforce Professional, she was able to persevere and gain full-time employment with her new licensure.
Jeremy was self-employed as the Owner and Operator of ICT Towing and Recovery since October of 2005. On 11/2022, he was involved in an accident that totaled his only company vehicle. Jeremy was forced to shutter his business as he lacked funds for the repairs or a new tow truck. After receiving assistance tailoring his resume at the Workforce Center, Jeremy began completing online applications on his own en route to employment with Textron Aviation.

Andrew received financial assistance in earning his associate's degree Airframe Maintenance Technician through the One Workforce Grant. See his story below:
Tico was laid off from the company he had been employed at for 14 years as a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist. He desperately needed to earn his prior wage of $20.00 per hour to support his 14 children and was discouraged when all the CNC jobs he applied for offered wages of $15.00 per hour or less.
Chad had been employed as an automotive painter before being laid off. He expressed an interest in Healthcare, a completely new industry for him. Chad knew he would need training and support to switch careers.
