Workforce Alliance Releases Local and Regional Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Plan for 30 Day Comment Period
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is a federal
law that funds operations from the Workforce Centers of South Central Kansas
and supports skills training programs in the region. The Workforce Alliance of
South Central Kansas (WA) manages and oversees the WIOA funds in Local Area IV.
WIOA requires each Local Area to have an approved Regional Plan and Local Plan.
These plans must be reviewed and updated every four years.
On March 29, 2021, the WA published the Regional and Local Plan
for WIOA operations for public review and comment. The documents can be found
WA President and CEO Keith Lawing stated “We look forward to
hearing from employers, job seekers, and our community partners on the draft
plan with the goals of using the WIOA funds to help grow the regional economy
through a skilled workforce.”
