Why should teens attend the workshops?

YEP Essential Skills workshops are required before being placed in a work experience with many participating employers. They help promote the skills employers need in their workplaces and prepare the teen for real-life situations they will experience on the job, making the teen a more desirable and qualified candidate to businesses. The three-part YEP workshop consists of:

•   Workplace Etiquette
•   Financial Literacy
•   Keys to Employment
  
  

Young adults earn a badge for each workshop they complete, and an Essential Skills Certificate after completing the series. 

Youth who have already their ESC certificate in the past or participated in The Way to Work or Job Prep Programs, do not need to attend the YEP workshops.

Students will learn about a career field they are interested in and will be paid a stipend of up to $120.00 based on punctuality, attendance, and participation. (* - Trade Skills Camp HYPE is for ages 14-18)
