From Part-Time Employment to Full-Time AMT

Andrew was referred to the One Workforce Program seeking financial assistance with training in the Aviation industry. He was awarded grants/scholarships that covered only half of the semester's costs. He was employed part-time and was lacking the funding to cover the remaining semester costs of the AMT program on his own.

A Case Manager met with Andrew to complete the One Workforce eligibility process and discuss training and employment goals moving forward. Andrew completed all required assessments and was able to begin his final semester with funding assistance. He was also provided supportive services, assisting with utilities and housing later in his training.

“Thanks so much, it was an amazing opportunity to receive help with my last semester of school, allowing me to set money aside for additional tools and needed expenses,” Andrew stated.

Andrew successfully completed training and was awarded his AMT AA degree. He also received his temporary Airman Certificate from the FAA. With his new achievements in tow, he was offered full-time employment with Bombardier as an AMT earning $25.00 hourly. He also earned eligibility to earn employer-supported benefits. The financial assistance enabled the client to focus on his studies, completing the program with a 3.87 GPA.
