Primary Work Hours: M-Th 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., F 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Youth Workforce Professional will support the program operations of the Youth Programs of the Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas.  The position will work with customers ages 14-25 to conduct intake, eligibility, assessments, case management, referrals and will support Workforce Center events and youth recruitment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support and promote the overall brand of the Youth Program

  • Provide customers with a professional, warm, and inviting welcome

  • Assist other Workforce Center Teams with high-volume activities, including check-in, workshops, job fairs, and drop-in customer flow

  • Provide services and Youth Program Elements to Out of School youth ages 16-24 as outlined below:

Maintain monthly contact with customer assigned to the caseload through one-on-one case management

  • Attend Workforce Center training sessions as appropriate

  • Provide support for planning and execution of meetings, events, including workshops, job fairs and information sessions

  • Facilitate or deliver training classes/workshops to youth and other customers

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends in workforce development and youth services including Workforce Center Policy and Procedures

  • Must be able to attend and support events that occur occasionally during the evenings and weekends

  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong knowledge of Workforce Centers Services, program eligibility and customer flow and integrated service delivery model

  • Maintain a collaborative and supportive presence at all times and support multiple teams and partners with superior customer service

  • Navigate various systems simultaneously

  • Dependability- Is punctual and maintains regular attendance

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office —Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Strong Customer Service skills

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and departments

  • Experience with electronic database or management information systems

  • Experience in workforce development programs or case management

  • Experience in facilitation of group meetings/discussions

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Baccalaureate Degree required

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Kansas WORKReady! Certificate

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, or fluent in signing for the deaf
