Ben, an older veteran, faced multiple barriers to finding stable employment, including limited digital skills, gaps in his employment history, and a lack of transportation. This left him struggling to complete job applications online, without a current resume, and limited to jobs accessible by bus.

He entered the Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program (HVRP), where he received resume assistance, job leads, and career guidance to help him build a path forward. Ben was then referred to the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), where he could gain hands-on work experience to strengthen his job prospects.

Having enjoyed his prior work as a cook, Ben was placed in a cook training position, where he quickly excelled and remained committed to securing permanent employment. He soon accepted a full-time cook position at a local restaurant. Ben received HVRP assistance to purchase clothing required for his new job.

Thanks to his perseverance and the support he received through the Workforce Center, Ben overcome barriers that once seemed impossible and is building a fulfilling career.
