Chelsea Daniel on Biztalk Podcast
Chelsea Daniel of Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas joined WBJ editor Kirk Seminoff on episode 418 of the BizTalk with the Wichita Business Journal podcast to talk about the nonprofit's Youth Employment Project.

Chelsea Daniel has the personality to work with hundreds of teenagers looking for entryways into careers. She says she's not an extrovert, but I had a hard time believing it when she talked about her role with the Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas' youth employment program.

Get her talking about the success stories, in particular, and that's when she really brightens.

"The students that I typically place for internships are the ones that have indicated they're really driven," she said. "If the students that don't know what they want to do still have that drive, I'm going to advocate for them regardless of the job. I might send in a resume and say this student might not be what you think they are on paper, but please give them an opportunity because they're looking for their career and you could change somebody's life."

Daniel talked in this week's BizTalk with the Wichita Business Journal podcast episode about her role in recruiting: recruiting school districts to place kids in the program, recruiting kids themselves, and recruiting companies in an effort to create more intern spots for Wichita-area students.

If you're a small-business owner who has workforce needs and can use the help of a budding member of the workforce, check out details about the program at workforce-ks.com.

I appreciate Daniel joining me to talk about the successes and challenges of her work. You can find previous podcasts at our BizTalk with the Wichita Business Journal podcast hub. It is a great place to find interviews with Wichita-area business and community leaders over the past seven years.
